Charlie is one of the “good guys” in the not so perfect world of the internet .

Listen in as he tells his story of how he began his online career and how it evolved over the years and listen out for his golden nuggets

Just think about the Internet 20 years ago

  • Dial Up
  • Very few advertising venues
  • No social media
  • AOL was the king!

Goodness how things have changed

During his 20 years it’s incredible to see someone who cares so much about his clients and customers

His message is that if he can do it then you can do it too

Because what he teaches is not some here today gone tomorrow strategy but how to fish

We asked him if he were starting over what would be his top tips

FOCUS

If you’re going to succeed online it is going to be important to learn to focus on ONE thing until it is finished

The most damaging syndrome online is not information overload its the damaging trend of half built bridges

  • Autoresponders with no messages in them
  • Blogs with no posts on them
  • Products that are bought and never used
  • PLR products purchased and never set up

We are all guilty of this quite honestly – we know we are too!

The bottom line is this – commit to doing less and always finishing what you start and you will automatically do more.

SYSTEMS

Automation is the key to having time freedom and financial success

Automated marketing system keep the sales rolling in even when you are not able to show up for “work”

We can definitely testify to this and why we are forever teaching our students and clients to concentrate on building out an automated system which works even when you are not working

PEOPLE

The right people working with you can make all the difference. Accept you can’t any maybe don’t want to do everything in your business so finding the right outsourcers and partners is really important

  • You can find people to create websites for you
  • You can find people to write books for you
  • You can find people to place our Facebook Ads for you
  • You can find people to write your blog posts for you

To do almost everything for you

And for a price you can actually afford

Those are Charlie’s top tops for finding success online

You can find out more by visiting CharliePage.com

RESOURCES

The Directory Of Ezines we talked about was our very first introduction to Charlie and was all about how to increase sales by driving highly targeted traffic to ANY offer you promote using ezines

Luckily you can still get access to this and it’s a wonderful introduction to finding the right customers for your offers particularly in the affiliate marketing world

These days you even get access to a mini traffic course from Charlie so well worth a look

Thanks for joining us for today’s podcast and show and look forward to seeing you again next time

A New Goalpost – How To Become A Goal Achiever https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/a-new-goalpost-how-to-become-a-goal-achiever/ https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/a-new-goalpost-how-to-become-a-goal-achiever/#respond Sat, 11 Jul 2020 14:34:33 +0000 http://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/?p=1274 We had the pleasure today of interviewing Ray Newland former professional goalkeeper turned business owner

Ray came from a very poor background but with the love and support of his family even though times were very hard back then he went on to become a “trainee” goalkeeper and his career took off

You will hear in this interview how a final training ground injury when he was just 28 started a whole new adventure

We and just about every guest we have interviewed will talk about that “trigger point” that led to a new adventure and that’s exactly what happened to Ray after his injury

He began coaching for free and in 2011 be stared Just4Keepers goalkeeper training schools which today is the largest global school in the world operating in more than 28 countries and 5 continents with over 10,000 parents trusting J4K by bringing their child to their weekly classes. That’s quite an achievement we’re sure you’ll agree!

His “goal” today (sorry for the pun) is to continue to grow that business and support football education as well as to help other pro athletes and entrepreneurs to develop their own sports brand

He’s clearly been a student of our perfect avatar training!

He now writes on the topic of mental strength and self help drawing on his experience and knowledge

One of our favourites is this : How To Become A Goal Achiever

How to become a Goal Achiever is about the success traits of not only writing down your goals, but more importantly hitting them.Sadly, for most people they never hit their goals and for the most part it is not their fault because they have never been taught to write down their goals properly. So How to become a Goal Achiever and not just another goal setter, is my personal blue print that has helped me achieve my dream of becoming a professional goalkeeper (soccer), helped me build a substantial property business, helped me write a series of books that sell all around the work and that also helped me build the biggest business in my sports niche

Other titles include :

How To Day Dream Your Way To Success And Get Anything You Want

How To Become Better Than Average And Achieve Anything You Want

Dream – Believe – Plan – ACT! How These 4 Words Can Change Your Life

How to Win in Life Using a Sports Mindset

The Six Figure Routine

We were blessed to meet Ray and his wife in 2015 when they attended a training event we were running in London and not only did they become clients but firm friends and we continue to support and work together to this day

He’s got a new podcast due to launch so watch out for that as knowing Ray it will be educational, fun and entertaining

We rather liked when checking into Wikipedia during our research that he has a rather unusual claim to fame having unofficially broken the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of best men at his wedding in 2014 – 147! All were his current goal keeper students at the time

We hope you enjoyed the interview and that you too are inspired to think about what your knowledge, experience and past career might bring to others and give you joy in your retirement… as well of course as an income to continue your endeavours

Can Network Marketing Save Your Retirement https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/can-network-marketing-save-your-retirement/ https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/can-network-marketing-save-your-retirement/#respond Thu, 30 Apr 2020 14:29:16 +0000 http://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/?p=970 Can Network Marketing Save Your Retirement?

That was the headline of an article written in July 2017 for Forbes by Robert Laura and a follow up to one of Forbes most downloaded articles back in 2014 “Would You Join A Multi-Level Marketing Company For Retirement Income” also written by the guest on today’s Living The Retirement Lifestyle podcast.

As we discussed during the interview, as far as the retirement savings crisis is concerned, more and more people are coming to terms with the fact that they probably aren’t going to be able to save enough money to see them through to a ripe old age and there’s a obvious need to find alternative ways to save more or generate a supplementary income either in or approaching retirement.

We’re not here to advocate network marketing as the only solution because there are many but it remains a good choice given other benefits aside “safety” on the Maslows Heirarchy of Needs such as self-actualization, love and belonging and esteem

Maslows Heirarchy Of Needs

During our interview we asked Robert to expand on his statement in his 2017 Forbes article about the trends he’s studied regards the network marketing business model which suggests that “network marketing can play a crucial role in how well baby boomers and others transition into retirement…that once you strip out the financial aspects you get a very different picture… retirement is not all about money.”

A successful transition from work-life to home-life is more than about money and there are plenty of people with substantial amounts of money saved for retirement that are completely miserable. with many wanting to learn new things and be a part of a community.

From the clients and people he speaks with Roberts has found that they are always reading, posting and sharing something inspirational… have goals and use the products they are selling to improve the way they look and feel. Add that to the fact that network marketing companies have local meetings and annual events members get out of the house, build knowledge, develop new skills and have the opportunity to meet new people.

From our experience in building an online business education business ourselves and travelling around the world speaking and training we see these two distinct groups of people – those who are there to learn how to generate income in their retirement and those who just want to socialise with like minded people.

The Other Side Of Chaos Life After The Coronavirus https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/the-other-side-of-chaos-life-after-the-coronavirus/ https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/the-other-side-of-chaos-life-after-the-coronavirus/#respond Wed, 25 Mar 2020 17:11:13 +0000 http://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/?p=945 We had the most amazing half hour this morning with our guest on Living The Retirement Lifestyle Video Podcast

Paul Avins who was one of our very first mentors and guides during the early days of our online business shared with us his thoughts on life on the other side of chaos and a “first time” training for you on what we’ll call his “3 Circles” for now. This will all be in perspective when you listen to the Living The Retirement Lifestyle podcast or watch the webcast here

The 3 Circles are

  • Work And Learning
  • Fun and Family
  • Health and Energy

Each of these three will need be the focus for all of us as we continue the path called life much like Maslow’s Heirachy of Needs – Survival, Love and Belonging, Power, Freedom and Fun

These three will be the range of needs that must be fulfilled in order for us to thrive.

Catch the show here

We all of us need to have a sense of knowing that there is life after the coronavirus panademic – HOPE might be a better word

Paul talks about something shared with him by one of his business partners who’s an explorer and climbs mountains. He says if you imagine this – your life as you get older – its a great analogy and fitting for you reading this if you’re of retirement age or nearing it…

When you’re in your twenties , you’re at Base Camp. It doesn’t matter if you screw up and make bad decisions… you can recover. You’ve got time on your side but as you start climbing and ou are in your 20’s and 30’s you’re pretty much less than two or three hundred feet up. It’s not a big deal. If you packed the wrong jacket you’re not going to die. If you wear the wrong shoes, you’re not going to die. But when you’re 25,000 feet and you didn’t take oxygen. If you don’t have the right jacket and there’s a storm coming and you get hit by that storm, you’re dead! Financially you’re dead. Emotionally you’re dead; you might even be physically dead with all that’s going on right now because you made bad decisions at the bottom which impacts you at the top. Many of us are not thinking ahead. We’re not thinking about what happens when I’m 50, 65 or 70 when I’m at the top of the mountain… what happens if I get hit by a storm…

You need someone to be saying to you “you need this, you need oxygen, you need the right climbing boots, we need survival tents”

You can download and read the full transcript because there’s some really insightful information and which could well help you survive the after effects of this coronavirus pandemic financially as well as physically and emotionally

Make no mistake the world will be very different as we discussed on the show

This coronavirus pandemic will pass

The world will change

Work from home

Webinar

…and…

Online education

…will all be terms people are familiar with and use in everyday life after this is all over…

BUT it’s what we do now though that will help shape our future

One of our mentors said this :-

“Don’t use the crisis as an excuse to pause your growth, relationship with your mentors and investment in yourself.

Now is the time, to level up your skills, lean into your mentors and market yourself when everyone else is pulling back.

Survival mode doesn’t create growth”

As Rich Dad mentor Keith Cunningham says

Success is getting what you want, fulfillment is giving what you’ve got.

Here’s the full transcription you can download and read

I’ll Retire When I Die https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/ill-retire-when-i-die/ https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/ill-retire-when-i-die/#respond Thu, 24 Oct 2019 16:21:21 +0000 http://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/?p=793 Welcome to our latest Living The Retirement Lifestyle Webshow withe special guest Tom Beal who we have known a lot of years and bumped into all over the world at events where he is speaking. After asking our guests questions about their views on retirement we always ask them what title they would give if writing a chapter in our book on retirement.

I’ll Retire When I Die was the answer our guest Tom ( aka ‘Million Dollar Beal’ ) gave us when asked the question

If you were writing a chapter in our new book “The Mindset Shift From Employment To Retirement” (we sometimes call it “Retiring The New Way”) what would the title of your chapter be? And why would that be?

He goes on to say that the reason for “I’ll retire when I die” is I feel when we have something that brings us joy and passion, we’re living much longer. I feel it’s when people retire and don’t have a future vision that inspires them that their lives are cut short. So I encourage everyone, regardless of what age they’re hearing this, or what age they find themselves when crossing paths with this…

What brings you excitement about tomorrow, next week, next year? And find something to explore that would you bring you that excitement and become curious about it and go explore. And as you explore, think, how could I turn this into something… how they can benefit from my exploration. And there’s infinite possibilities of what that can be but in essence, it’s I’ll retire when I die

I want to do something that brings me joy every day until I die. I don’t see retirement, like retirement in the old way, is not for me…

I’ll Retire When I Die He Said…

“I want to have something that’s providing value to the people that are in my circles to where I’ll do it up until my last breath. And I’ll do it with joy and if I’ve figured out a way to get compensated, that’s just a bonus. You can imagine doing something that provides value to others and also has a a nice monetary return. That’s the win-win scenario

Starry Night https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/starry-night/ https://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/starry-night/#respond Wed, 16 Oct 2019 20:17:24 +0000 http://livingtheretirementlifestyle.com/?p=744 To set the scene, The Starry Night is an oil on canvas by the Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. Painted in June 1889, it describes the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, just before sunrise…

However we’re not here to discuss Vincent Van Gogh or the painting but the story behind a “fake ” edition of the painting which inspired the journey of our guest today on Living The Retirement Lifestyle Podcast and Webshow

Meet Neil Stafford who celebrates a milestone birthday this year qualifying him for the “retiree entrepreneurs club” we formed back in 2017. He made his first sale online way back in May 1998 and it was for the oil painting – the famous Starry Night by Van Gogh

Who would have thought that this “genuine fakes” business as he describes it would ultimately lead to the creation of a six figure information business helping entrepreneurs and information marketers create a residual income from their knowledge, skills, expertise or a BIG IDEA

Enjoy the interview as the story unfolds (and if you prefer to read do make sure to open the “cc” on the video to get the captions

The Story of “Starry Night” & How It Lead To The Creation Of An Information Business In Retirement

What we loved about Neil’s story was how he began an adventure into the unknown way back before the world of the internet which today we take for granted but which has opened up so many opportunities for us using the technologies we can start a business, learn new skills and still have a lot of fun

We asked Neil “what kind of challenges do you think people are going to face as they come into retirement, or perhaps are already in it”

His answer as he told the story of his stag weekend with a group of lads in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s centred around MONEY. Most were speaking the common words we hear ourselves “will I have enough?” or “How can I maximise what I have to make sure I have enough?” For those who had retired it was how to save more or get more to invest more…not how can I make more” which should be the question they’re asking themselves?

Our next question was “what do you think someone approaching retirement should ask themselves about their future?”

His answer was “Is what I’m doing now what I want to be doing and where I want to be in five or ten years time? And if it’s not the case what do I really want to do and what do I need to do achieve itwhat do I need to have that lifestyle I want in retirement?”

He goes on to say that whatever you want to do in retirement you can can still do it. If you’re 65 now and you think “right for the next 15 years I want to be travelling once a month, or once a quarter, or my family live around the world and I want to go and see them two or three times a year… or I want to go and do “X” You can do it!

Then reverse engineer what you need to do to be able to do that. What is your skill set? You’ve got skills, you’ve got knowledge, you’ve got experience.

Tap into the knowledge of someone who has done what you want to do and find out how you can turn it into a marketable product or a business

Neil’s Words of Wisdom

We write a lot of books so we asked Neil one final question “If you were contributing a chapter to one of our books on living the retirement lifestyle what would the headline of that chapter be?” His answer “In Life Aim High, Inspire And Smile”

In life you’ve got to aim high, inspire and smile. What I mean by that is that you should aim high because if you aim low you’re going to hit it. Inspire other people whether that’s family, friends or in business. Inspire your customers, your clients and their lives. Make sure you keep smiling as you go through it because you’ll have ups and downs. Things won’t go right all the time believe me but if you smile at them you’ll be inspired yourself and have a great life.

“Whatever you do, find a way to put recurring revenue into your business” and “no matter what you start now, in several years time it can be different. You’re not wedded to what you start!

Neil works with entrepreneurs who have used their knowledge, skills, experience or expertise to create online information based businesses using his specialist knowledge and expertise with membership sites and continuity programs and something we strongly encourage our students and clients to do to bring in that all important recurring revenue.
