We recently had the tables turned on us and interviewed by long time friend and entrepreneur Jenni Proctor creator of Boomers Next Steps for her for Silver Sages series where she looks at how people have shifted their careers and started different businesses in the next chapter of their lives

If you don’t know our story (which you can read here) we had a successful Accountancy and Management Consultancy practice which involved working long hours. The business was good but we had no time and no balance of work and family life. This was not how we envisaged our later life – our retirement lifestyle – so we set about planning for our retirement…
Long story short, our retirement lifestyle plans were blown out of the water when the Global Financial Crisis hit the world and we lost much of our retirement nest egg.
We could have buried our heads in our hands and given up on our plans (and we’re human so we did for a while) but after some deliberation we also realised it offered us an opportunity and led us to pursuing a career in the online world as “educators” as Jenni calls us. The decision to follow this path has fulfilled our dreams of a retirement business and lifestyle of time freedom and travel and best of all we’re in a position to serve those just like us.
We can only urge you to make your lifestyle dreams come true by taking action as early as possible and not procrastinate on your retirement planning decisions. They may not be easy to make and we cover some tips on that in our book which you can download here.
