Join us as we speak today on Living The Retirement Lifestyle Podcast with Jan Pflaum author of Roping The Storms Of Life and hear how she incorporated the takeaways from her time as a nurse in a hospice and after moving to Texas became intrigued by what she calls “the cowgirl spirit” and wrote a book that captures that mentality.
It’s a wonderful story about finding your inner strength and confidence
Listen in as she take you on her journey and inspires you towards roping the storms of life like a cowgirl
Right now in the midst of the global pandemic as we write this and record the interview there’s never a more important time to find the motivation to change your life and leave behind anxiety, worry and fear.
The cowgirls gave Jan the mission and purpose to write the book and through her words to reach out to those experiencing the absolute worst storms of their lives… that time where they are really worried, scared and feel alone in their struggles. We hope you enjoy listening to Jan’s story and know that you are the only one who has control of your life!
Roping The Storms Of Life Like A Cowgirl
We were very much reminded hearing Jan’s story and her work in the hospice as a nurse, of the ‘Regrets Of The Dying’ by Bronnie Ware who worked as a nurse in pallative care. Words that have gone on to inspire so many people since most especially those seeking a new route in life.
People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone’s capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal.
I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me
I wish I hadn’t worked so hard
I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings
I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
I wish that I had let myself be happier
Jan’s phrase which sums her up so well is “always keep your sparkle“
