It’s early April 2020 and the world is in turmoil as we speak with our guest Bob Burg best selling co-author of “The Go-Giver” book series, and leading authority on influence and referral marketing on Living The Retirement Lifestyle
When we arranged this interview and Bob kindly agreed to share his wisdom on our show none of us knew what was about to hit us, and as we publish this now some seven month afterwards we can only reflect on what we thought then would be a short interruption to life as we all knew it.
He shares some wonderful insights into his journey, how he became an author and why a subtle shift in focus is not only a more uplifting and fulfilling way of conducting business but the most financially profitable way. Although for years he was best known for his book Endless Referrals, over the past few years it’s his business parable, The Go-Giver (co-authored with John David Mann) that has captured the imagination of his readers… and that’s how we first met many years ago.
We had just got a copy of The Go-Giver and everything just fell into place so we recorded a video (Facebook Live didn’t exist then) straight on to our Facebook profile. It automatically appeared on Twitter and Bob being the Go-Giver that he is immediately responded. Our relationship was cemented forever.
Bob’s story really is one of those never ending stories and we could have spoken for hours but we wanted to grab those golden nuggets of wisdom for you
We believe he sums it up when he talks about entrepreneurship in a changing world where it’s important to think not about the money but about being of service to others. How to focus on the other person and how their life will be touched through the product or service you are selling or referring and the additional assistance and help you are able to provide in the course of the transaction.
In other words “how can I be of value to another human being“
There is so much value he provides throughout our time together and hope that you drink it all in and take what he shares and think about what you could do in your retirement years that might be of service to others while financially rewarding
Bob is a huge supporter of what he refers to as the ‘Free Enterprise‘ system, believing that the amount of money you make is directly proportional to how many people you serve. We couldn’t agree more.
Plus of course he’s a cat lover just like us
You can find out more and get in touch with Bob via his website and learn how he teaches business professionals how to leverage their network of everyday contacts into a never ending stream of new prospects.
If you’re looking at entrepreneurship in retirement we would highly recommend you pick up a copy of the Go-Giver and learn though this wonderful parable how a subtle shift in focus helps you provide exceptional value, expand your influence and dramatically increase your income.
