This Will Change Your Life is one of those videos that captivates you from start to end as Alan Watts (British Philosopher) asks the questions “what if money were no object?“

And that’s important for everyone because one thing we’ve realised at time of writing in the midst of a global pandemic is that doing what we’ve always done is not going to get us what we want in life.

In the video above he asks, “What would you like to do if money were no object? How would you really enjoy spending your life?” 

The simple answer having reached a certain age and maybe not done some of the things we would have liked is to find your passion and pursue it.

Pursuing one’s dreams can be frightening, which is why there are so many people working in jobs which provide little challenge or satisfaction. Those people usually stay in those jobs primarily because they provide financial security. We get that 100% because it was us. Working 60-70 hours a week in our management consultancy business tied to clients in the UK and seeing our retirement dreams slipping away

According to Watts if making money is paramount, you will spend your life completely wasting your time. You will be doing things you don’t like doing to afford going on living your life doing the things that you don’t like doing!

The most sensible choice is to confront our fears and follow our intuitions. If you keep at it, you will eventually become a master. Then you will find a way to make money while doing the thing that satisfies you on a much deeper level.

That in a nutshell is exactly what happened to us albeit at the time we didn’t know it.

The road ahead as we discovered was one of curve balls and wrong turns but we got on it and we pushed forward trusting that eventually we would make a difference…
